The constituency has an electorate of 72,908 and at present is served by 4 Teachtaí Dála (TDs). The method of election is the Single Transferable Vote. The constituency is made up of the Balbriggan and Malahide electoral areas of Fingal County Council and the majority of the Swords electoral area. Recent boundary revisions have seen rural parts of the Swords area appended to the Dublin West constituency but the constituency will retain its four seats with the growth in new housing throughout the constituency largely in the Balbriggan area.
